Capital Classics 2017-2018 Teams

The Capital Classics synchronized skating teams are a Jefferson City, MO, Parks and Recreation Program in their 22nd year. The teams compete under the Ice Skating Institute (ISI) and U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) systems.
Under ISI, teams are divided by age:
Tot (6 and under)
Jr. Youth (8 and under)
Youth (9-11)
Sr. Youth (12-14)
Teen (14-19).
Under USFS, teams are divided by age and ability level:
Intermediate (Intensity) skaters must be under 18 and have passed the Pre-Juvenile Move in the Field test.
Open Juvenile (Radiance) skaters must be under 20 years old and have passed the Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field test.
**Within ISI and USFS the age groupings are based on the skaters age as of July 1 of the start of the current season.**
The Capital Classics competitive skating teams perform in recitals and all three nights in the ice show. They also compete four to five times in St. Joseph, St. Louis and Kansas City, once in Jefferson City, and two full weekend trips out of state for the Dr. Richard Porter Classic and the ISI Synchro Champs.
